You could ride at the 2016 Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials

Have you ever dreamed of riding at the world famous Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials?

Well your dream could come true without having to tackle the enormous, and rather scary cross country fences

Ebony Horse Club (EHC) is thrilled to announce that we have been named as one of the charities that will benefit from this year’s SEIB Burghley Sponsored ride which takes place on Sunday 4th September 2016.

Run over a 12km course, the SEIB Insurance Brokers Sponsored Ride allows participants to get up close to the daunting Burghley Cross Country fences including the legendary Dairy Mound and Trout Hatchery.

Riders will also enjoy breath-taking views over the magnificent Burghley House and have the chance to explore the tracks and pathways of the vast Burghley Estate.

Because of the generous sponsorship from SEIB Insurance Brokers, 100% of the money raised by participants in the SEIB Burghley Sponsored Ride will go to charity – and Ebony Horse Club is one of three charities that will benefit as a result.

Sue Collins, Chair of Trustees said, “It is our 21st anniversary next year. We used to take the children by mini bus to riding schools but six years ago we got our own horses. We still take the children on excursions as we believe it is important for them to see more of the equestrian world. It will be inspiring for the children to see that they are a part of a community of horse lovers and to be involved in such an iconic event.”

How to take part
Entries are open now and a schedule and entry form can be downloaded from the event’s website which includes options to enter and pay online at or email for details on entering by post.

Entries will close on Friday 26th August.

Supporting EHC
As a charity we rely on people helping us to raise money so why not get sponsored to take part and help us raise even more from the event?

You could even arrange a bake sale at work or at your yard to help raise money for the ride.

As part of Team EHC, you will receive a t-shirt to say thank you – and we will be there on the day to cheer you on and lend a helping hand.

Your money will go towards helping us continue to provide riding lessons, much needed youth work support and a range of activities aimed at helping young people unlock their potential on and off a horse.
